Magnus Carlsen is currently playing in the Norwegian Poker Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia. He is one of 435 players, out of 680, who made it through Day 1.

Before the Norwegian Poker Championship started, Magnus made an Instagram story, which interested his fans and people in the chess community.

Yesterday, Magnus posted another photo on his Instagram with the caption “Can’t read my, can’t read my” which refers to the song “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga.

For a Norwegian broadcast, Magnus, with a smile on his face, said that he prefers poker over chess. He was also asked whether he thinks poker it’s fun and he replied: “Yeah, it’s fine. It’s a bit tiring. I was sitting here for an hour or an hour and a half and I didn’t win a single hand. I just folded and folded. That’s not very exciting, but when something happens, it’s fun.”

His love for poker is no news. He’s been playing poker for most of his life and has amazing skills. Last year, he competed in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, but unfortunately was eliminated after the first day in a competition of 1800 players.

We wish Magnus lots of luck in his poker career!
